Sanding Solution

Video, Carpentry, Painting Published 10/29/2006 by Danny Lipford

Sanding walls or ceilings can be a tiring job without a pole sander. But if this isn’t a job you perform often, the expense of buying the tool may be hard to justify. Here’s an idea to create a substitute using an ordinary sponge mop. Remove the sponge by unscrewing the retaining nuts on the back of the mop. Wrap a piece of sandpaper around the sponge (it’s best for it to be dry) punching holes in the sand paper to go over the retaining screws. Now reattach the sponge head and your mop is a pole sander.
